Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 October 2026
The BeanBag Podcast is produced by BeanBag Media ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our tools, why we collect it, and how you can contact us about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Contact form and email. Your name, email address and the message you send us, so we can reply.
- Website analytics. Aggregated, non-identifying usage data (pages viewed, approximate region, device type) used to understand how the site is used.
- Embedded players. Episodes are embedded from YouTube and Spotify. Those services may set their own cookies when you play an episode, under their own privacy policies.
Our publishing tools
We use an internal publishing tool, Beanbag Studio, to upload our own episodes and clips to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. It connects only to accounts owned by BeanBag Media, posts only our own content, and does not collect information about viewers or other users of those platforms. Access tokens issued by those platforms are stored on our own equipment and are revoked when no longer needed.
How we use information
- To respond to enquiries, guest pitches and sponsorship requests.
- To run and improve the website and the podcast.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked for it.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that host this site and deliver our email, and only as needed to provide those services. Some providers store data outside Australia.
Retention and security
We keep enquiry messages for as long as needed to deal with them and for our records, then delete them. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@beanbagpodcast.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
